Buying & design
How much does a custom sign cost?
Text signs start from . The designer prices your sign live as you type: size, number of letters, colours and backing all move it, and the price you see is the price you pay. Logos and artwork get a free mockup with an exact price within 12 hours.
Do I see a drawing before you make it?
Always. Within 12 hours of your order we send a proof drawing showing the exact words, lettering, colours and size. Nothing is made until you approve it, and tweaks to the drawing are free.
What does it look like switched off?
That depends on the jacket, the silicone sleeve around the LEDs. With a white jacket the tube looks white when it's off and glows your colour when it's on; a coloured jacket keeps its colour by day too. Colour-changing tubes are white when off. In the designer, tap 'Sign on/off' to see yours both ways.
Can I send my logo or handwriting?
Yes. Upload a logo, a sketch or a scan of handwriting and a designer redraws it as tube, then sends you a mockup and the price within 12 hours. Vector files (SVG or PDF) give the cleanest start, but a clear photo works too. Very fine detail sometimes needs simplifying, and we'll show you exactly how before anything is made.
Can I have two colours?
Not in the designer: every sign you design here is one colour. If you have a two-colour idea, message us and we'll tell you what's possible.
What size should I go for?
Measure the space and aim for a sign about half to three-quarters the width of the furniture beneath it: above a double bed, 80 to 100 cm reads well. Our sizes go by letter height, from Small to Statement, and the designer shows yours to scale in a real-looking room. Anything over 2 m we quote for you.
The sign itself
What's in the box?
Your sign on its acrylic backing, a power supply with a UK plug (never a travel adaptor), the fixings you chose and your proof drawing. A dimmer with a remote is an optional extra in the designer.
Does it get hot, and is it safe?
LED neon runs on a low-voltage supply and stays far cooler than glass neon, so it's happy on a bedroom wall. The power supply comes with a UK plug.
How long will it last?
Every sign comes with a 3-year warranty on the LEDs and the power supply, and on the dimmer and remote if you added them. Keep it indoors and give it a dust now and then.
Can it go outside?
Yes. Choose Outdoors in the Fitting step of the designer: outdoor signs get a sealed supply and a weatherproof jacket, and the outdoor build adds 25% to the sign price.
Where are you based?
Our address is 182–184 High Street North, East Ham, London E6 2JA. Every sign is drawn, bent and mounted in a UK workshop, then sent out with free delivery across mainland GB.
Delivery & installation
How long will it take?
We send your proof drawing within 12 hours, and your sign arrives 7–10 working days after you approve your proof drawing. Weekends and UK bank holidays don't count, and if you approve by 14:00 on a working day, that day counts. The designer and your basket show the dates for your postcode.
Do you deliver everywhere in the UK?
Delivery is free across mainland GB, and that includes the Highlands mainland and the Isle of Wight. We can't deliver to Northern Ireland, the Scottish islands, the Isles of Scilly, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man yet. Pop your postcode into the designer or the delivery page and it'll tell you straight away; if you're outside the area, ask us, because we're working on it.
Do you do rush orders?
Not at the moment. Every sign takes 7–10 working days after you approve your proof drawing, and we'd rather tell you that now than miss your date. Put your date into 'Need it by?' in the designer and it'll tell you whether standard making gets there; if it's tight, message us before you order and we'll be straight with you about what's possible.
How do I hang it?
You choose in the designer: wall screws with standoffs (the classic, for plaster or brick), hanging chains, adhesive strips (small, light signs on smooth walls, handy for renters) or a table stand for shelves and bars. It plugs into a normal socket, so there's no wiring to do.
What if it arrives damaged?
Tell us as soon as you can if it arrives damaged. This doesn't affect your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Send us a photo of the sign and the box and we'll repair or remake it at no cost to you.
Returns & warranty
Can I return a custom sign?
Custom signs are made to your words, so they can't be returned for a change of mind once we start making them; the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 treat personalised goods differently. You can cancel free of charge any time before you approve your proof drawing. If anything is faulty we'll repair or remake it, and your statutory rights are not affected.
Can I return a ready-made design?
Yes. Ready-made designs come with a 14-day change-of-mind return: tell us within 14 days of it arriving. Get in touch and we'll arrange the return with you. If you changed the words in the designer, it counts as a custom sign.
What does the warranty cover?
3 years on the LEDs and the power supply, and on the dimmer and remote if you added them, under normal indoor use. It doesn't cover accidental damage, or a standard indoor sign used outdoors. Your statutory rights are not affected.
My sign won't light. What should I check?
Work along the chain: is the socket switched on, and is the power supply's cable pushed fully into the sign's cable? If you added the dimmer, check both of its connections, then try the remote with fresh batteries and turn the brightness up. Still dark? Send us a photo and we'll sort it under your warranty.
