Recycling your sign

A sign should last for years, but nothing lasts for ever. When it’s time, the LEDs, the power supply and the remote’s battery all deserve better than the bin.

What the crossed-out bin means

Crossed-out wheelie bin symbol

Our signs, power supplies and dimmers carry the crossed-out wheelie bin. It means they’re electrical equipment that mustn’t go in your household rubbish. They contain materials that can be recovered and some that shouldn’t end up in landfill, so they need to go to a proper electrical recycling point.

Send an old sign back to us

When you buy a new sign from us, we’ll take back an old one of the same kind, whoever made it, so it can be recycled properly. Get in touch through our contact form with your order reference and we’ll explain how to send it.

You can also drop electrical items at most household waste and recycling centres run by your council, free of charge. Your council’s website lists the nearest one.

Taking it apart sensibly

  • The sign and its tube: treat the whole sign as electrical waste. Please don’t try to separate the LED tube from the acrylic.
  • The power supply and dimmer: electrical waste, same as the sign.
  • The remote’s battery: take it out and recycle it at a battery collection point; most supermarkets have one by the door.
  • The box and paper packaging: your household recycling.
